Animation is a method of photographing successive models, drawings, or puppets to create an illusion of movement in a sequence. There are five different animation types: traditional, 2D, 2D, Motion Graphics, and Stop Motion. Motion graphics animation techniques revolve around text and fundamental illustrations. Film opening titles, animated logos, app commercials, explainer videos, and other multimedia projects often use motion graphics. Some famous animation studios include Pixar, which was founded in 1986. Now part of Disney. Pixar debuted by releasing the incredibly popular Toy Story and has continued releasing hits, including A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, and many more. Another famous animation studio is Studio Ghibili Inc, based in Koganei, Tokyo. Founded in 1985 studio Ghibli not only helped bring Japanese animation into an international hint. Digital Illustration is personally one of my favourite parts of graphic art. Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics design program. It's been around since 1985 and is used to create logos, icons, book illustrations, and more. Inkscape is a free vector graphics editor. Similar to Adobe Illustrator. Procreate is a digial art app. Procreate gives you the feeling of real-world drawing with the power of digital art. Works well with the Ipad and Apple Pencil. A good choice for digital artists since it's a one-time fee of 12.99 versus a monthly or yearly charge for Adobe. It can also be used to make animation and has many different saving file options. The five basic principles of layout and composition, include proximity, white space, alignment, contrast, and repetition. Alignment creates a sharper more unified design. The documentary about the founders of Adobe Photoshop was really fascinating. Hearing from the two different sides stating that photos shouldn't be manipulated and it'll lead the public to become untrusting of them. Which now 20 years later photos don't get released unless they are edited. James Cameron movie The Abyss the first movie to use photoshop for a poster. Raster and vector are the two ways graphics are made. Raster uses pixels which can get pixelated. Which can result in the photo being distorted and not scalable. Vector uses vector lines and shapes which do not get pixelated. Vector has an outline to the shapes before it is drawn and coloured in. Rasters get saved under JPG, PNG, GIF, and BMP. While Vectors gets saved under AI, PDF, EPS, and SVG. Vector files do not work on all programs. Digital artist Bert Monroy creator of one of the most ambitious artworks Time Square.
